This film from Namibia tells us a thing or two about courage in the face of risk and temptation.

Through the Love Stories, we’ve seen quite a few family struggles with couples and their children torn apart by infidelity and betrayal. This weekend, as the series continues, we see a family struggling to survive a difficult life while facing dangerous temptations to take the easy way out.

Against The Odds, a film from Namibia, features the story of a woman working hard to put her orphaned teenage granddaughter through school and put food on the table, while her restless granddaughter resents the life they live and dreams of more. They come across a man from the neighbourhood who offers an attractive business opportunity. But there’s a catch…and it involves the girl.
