Femina HIP at Global YES Summit

We joined thousands to take a step toward “reworking the world”.

From the 2nd to the 5th of this month, Femina HIP was part of the 5th Global YES Summit in Sweden, where the focus was on the future of finance and employment in developing societies. Also known as Rework the World, the occasion brought together 1800 entrepreneurs and various initiatives to network and discuss sustainability in the areas of Energy, Water, Land, Cities and People.

As one of the 100 initiatives selected to present their work, Femina HIP presented its overall agenda and methodology as a civil society organisation, but also its growing focus on promoting entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihoods, solar energy and green jobs in Tanzania.

The Summit is a collaboration between YES Inc. and the Tällberg Foundation. Among its goals are to link people having progressive business ideas with the people or resources to support them, and to do so in a way that promotes a green economy. Such agendas are becoming increasingly relevant with the context of the global economic crisis and climate change.
