Femina HIP Marks World AIDS Day

Femina HIP joins big event at Biafra Grounds

The Biafra Grounds in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, were alive with activity last Tuesday the 1st of December. Various organisations and companies were gathered here to mark World AIDS Day. Femina HIPmarks the day each year, and this year had a joint stand with Champion/Engender Health.

Femina HIP activities included: a Q&A about HIV/AIDS, guidelines on how to start a Fema Club and discussions on how to live positively with HIV/AIDS. Visitors to the stand also had  the opportunity to learn more about Femina HIP’s work and were given publications focusing on prevention.

World AIDS Day is recognised internationally, and is about raising money, increasing awareness, fighting prejudice and improving education. The theme of World AIDS Day this year was “Universal Access and Human Rights.”
