Ruka Juu Is On Air

ITV Saturdays 18:30 (rpt Mon 13:15), TBC1 Sundays 21:00 (rpt Tue 12:00), Clouds TV Mondays 21:00

Fema TV Talk Show is back on air with a special season called Ruka Juu na Fema TV Talk Show. This season is all about entrepreneurship and self-empowerment, as we follow our contestants, coming from five different regions of Tanzania, competing in various challenges concerning their businesses for a grand cash prize.

About one million Tanzanian youth leave school every year. Many of them do not find employment and have to look for ways to start their own businesses. We think it is crucial to pick up on that and offer Help for Self Help.

Out of the 60 entrepreneurs our team has met in preparation, 6 remain in the competition for the prize of 5 million shillings, which the winner can invest in his or her own business. In the first episode of Ruka Juu, which aired on the 12th of March, we got to know the contestants, and also find out more about their businesses.

If you have seen Fema TV Talk Show before, you will notice some familiar faces - Dada Bahati and Bwana Ishi are part of the Ruka Juu team, and this time they are joined by the main presenter – Amabilis, popularly known from Fema magazine.

All viewers will be able to vote for their favourite contestant through simple SMS voting, which will be combined with the votes of the show's expert judges to find a winner at the end of the season. To vote, viewers can just send an SMS with the word “ruka“, followed by the number of the contestant to 15665.

Stay put for more episodes with entertaining and educating challenges, when our contestants try to promote themselves and their businesses, show us how they treat difficult customers or meet each other for the first time in a boot camp in Dar es Salaam, where they will receive advice and support about running a business.
