Partners

Collaboration is the very heart of Femina HIP’s work and is extremely vital for technical support, advocacy, distribution, funding and visibility purposes. Strategic partnerships help reinforce the messages in our products and facilitates their use on the ground. Today Femina HIP has more than 300 partners that we work with in different sectors: civil society, government, employers, health centres, PLHA support organisations and the school sector.

National Partners
Maintaining a relationship with local partners and stakeholders enables Femina HIP to exchange resources and build a sense of participation and ownership in our initiatives. Our partners, including local and central government, provide regular input and expertise and help facilitate the distribution and dissemination of our products.

National partnerships are also crucial to the distribution of Femina HIP products. Distribution occurs through partner organisations or is outsourced to EAM Logistics, a private distribution service provider. Femina HIP has worked closely with EAM Logistics for ten years and developed a refined and unique distribution system that covers every region in Tanzania. Femina HIP is constantly monitoring the system and liaises closely with EAM and other partners to ensure smooth and streamlined distribution.

Donor Partners
Donor partners provide funding as well as vital technical support for our civil society initiative. Common development goals are pursued. Femina HIP has a 5-yr Strategic Plan which is funded through a basket mechanism currently supported by the Swedish Embassy/Sida and the Danish Embassy/DANIDA. We are also supported by USAID/PEPFAR/FHI/UJANA, GTZ, RFE, UNICEF, UNFPA and Soul City

Donors have a vested interest in Femina HIP’s participatory methodology and promotion of citizen engagement and good governance. Furthermore, they understand the necessity of long-term investment and collaboration in order to build civil society movements with the help of media platforms like Femina HIP.

Regional Networking
Exchanging experiences and lessons learnt is central to the Femina HIP approach and Strategic Plan. Our regional partnerships, such as that with the Soul City Institute for Health and Development in South Africa, provide inspiration and have been instrumental to the development of the Femina HIP initiative. Our Strategic Plan 2006-2010(-14) features a regional component, where training and exchanging ideas among organisations involved in multimedia, development communication in the region is included.

Femina HIP organises workshops to allow regional and local partners to come together to share ideas and experiences around selected themes. Furthermore, we travel in the region to participate in similar workshops organised by our partners.

The most recent regional workshop centred on training around sexuality, gender, partner communication and counselling in the context of reducing Multiple Concurrent Partnership (MCP) as part of the regional OneLove campaign. Participants included representatives from partner organizations in Ethiopia, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Rogatus in Iringa likes what he reads about solar lamps
I'm really interested in those solar lamps mentioned in Si Mchezo! Where are they available?
From Suzan who is in Arusha and a fan of Si Mchezo!'s Betty Liduke
I applaud Betty Liduke for giving good advice to youth and people of all classes. My fellow youth... let's focus our strength on building our nation and being advisors for those with no education about social issues.
Kassim in Songea needs more Si Mchezo!
I'm a loyal follower of Si Mchezo!, it teaches and entertains us. But I have trouble getting it. Please help me get every issue.
