Who We Are

Femina HIP is a multimedia platform and a civil society initiative working with youth, communities and strategic partners across Tanzania. Since 1999, our aim has been to promote healthy lifestyles, sexual health, HIV/AIDS prevention, gender equality and citizen engagement. We are now also developing our agenda around entrepreneurship, financial literacy and livelihoods.

What We Do

Femina HIP educates and entertains young people in Tanzania and gives them VOICE to speak up and share experiences. Some of our media products are: Fema and Si Mchezo! magazines and Fema TV Talk Show. We also produce various booklets about life skills and we collaborate with partners on the production of the radio show Pilika Pilika and chezasalama.com.

Where We Go

Femina HIP's work reaches across Tanzania. 170,000 copies of each issue of Fema and 175,000 copies of each issue of Si Mchezo! are distributed throughout the country. Fema TV Talk Show and Pilika Pilika are aired nationwide. An estimated 10 million people per year engage with our media platform.

We also do community mobilisation. Our outreach agenda takes us all over the country to engage communities in dialogue, conduct research and carry out editorial collection.

From Suzan who is in Arusha and a fan of Si Mchezo!'s Betty Liduke
I applaud Betty Liduke for giving good advice to youth and people of all classes. My fellow youth... let's focus our strength on building our nation and being advisors for those with no education about social issues.
Rogatus in Iringa likes what he reads about solar lamps
I'm really interested in those solar lamps mentioned in Si Mchezo! Where are they available?
Kassim in Songea needs more Si Mchezo!
I'm a loyal follower of Si Mchezo!, it teaches and entertains us. But I have trouble getting it. Please help me get every issue.
