My Dare, My Economy "Empowered To Thrive"
My name is Ezra Liberatus (23), a champion from Amani ward in Muheza district. In the beginning before joining Ujana Salama training on “Start and Improve your business” it was very hard to find out what business I should start for income generation.
I tried to engage with my mother in her retail shop business located in Amani but did not see the results. I always dream of being a big businessperson in my village and wish other people to see me at a prominent level of business. An economic empowerment training from the Ujana Salama project inspired me to develop a business idea and plan.
Through the Ujana Salama Project an economic empowerment training on Generating Business Idea and Start Your Business, I gained the courage and confidence to stand up for myself and start my own business though the youth in my community saw me as am losing my time investing in livestock keeping.
My business journey started right away. I have managed to start my livestock farm, and I have two dairy cows. I now serve as a role model for youth in my community and advocate that everything is possible if you have a real plan. Thanks to the empowerment I received from the project.
Saving my money has helped me to buy my own dairy cows and start a livestock farm in my home. I am expecting to have more dairy cows after one year, as I am doing a cattle business for fattening.
Therefore, every year I will buy and sell a dairy cow and will help to generate more income.
I hope to continue being a role model to other youths in my community who could stand and show others that everything is possible if you plan well.
