Learn From My Story

My name is Ashura Jafari John, a 20-year-old student at Bukongo SS in Sengerema Dc, Mwanza. Currently in form six, I am studying economics, commerce, and accountancy.
Growing up, I faced challenges in my life stemming from my family circumstances. Being the first child of my mother, who had me at a young age (16 years) this made me aware of the repercussions of having a child at a young age.
My mother struggled with difficult situations, insults, and abandonment by my father. Despite the hardships, I performed well academically, but occasionally dropped out of school due to financial constraints.
I lived far from school, taking two buses each day and sometimes going without meals until late in the evening
In June 2022, I joined Bukongo Secondary School and realized that many of my peers also faced difficulties while studying. Reading Fema magazines opened my eyes to stories of people overcoming tough situations.
Aishi Manula's story inspired me to help others and work hard in my studies while in school. I took on a leadership role, assisting struggling peers with their studies especially those with lower grades by introducing peer to peer in school discussion program and aspire to become an accountant
Fema played a significant role in my academic success by helping me overcome stress and providing solutions to my worries. It enabled me to excel academically, speak confidently in public speaking skills and fueled positive changes in my life.
